Liyaza Siberians started in Upstate New York about 16 years ago. Johanna DuWaldt Coutu is a former Professional Handler and now manages a thriving Boarding Kennel. Michael Coutu is a contractor and along with Johanna breeds and runs their Chesapeake Bay Retrievers at Field Trials and Hunt Tests. Michael's daughter, Kourtney is a Nationally Ranked Top 10 Junior Handler-so the dogs are really a family affair! Johanna's passions had always been the Siberian though. Mentored by breeder and noted author Michael Jennings, she has strived to combine 'the best of the best' with stock from dual purpose kennels-racing and show. To her credit, Mrs. Coutu has finished numerous American and Canadian Championships, won multiple Best In Specialty Shows, Sweepstakes Group placements and awards on the National show level with her dogs. She has also had the pleasure of handling numerous clients' dogs to the same awards and to Group First wins in 4 of the 7 groups!
